William Graebel Named CEO of Graebel Companies, Inc.

Denver, CO (October 10, 2007) – Graebel Companies, Inc., the world’s leading privately-owned relocation company, today announced the appointment of Mr. William “Bill” Graebel as its Chief Executive Officer.  Mr. David Graebel will continue as Chairman of the Board.  Today’s announcement marks the culmination of a carefully architected succession plan. 

I am pleased to announce Bill’s promotion to Chief Executive Officer of the Graebel Companies.  His track record and reputation in serving the Graebel Companies over the past 3 decades uniquely qualifies him to take the helm as our CEO and have him lead the organization in its next phase of growth, innovation and industry leadership,” said David Graebel, Chairman of the Board and company founder 

The Chairman continued, “Today’s announcement sets the stage for the launch of a dynamic growth era for the company.  Over the past few years Bill and our Executive Management team have worked hard and effectively to improve operating margins, business processes, and our overall service delivery.  Bill’s vision and his team launched innovative technologies, and global on-the-ground services beyond compare.  This in turn has led to such noteworthy certifications as C-TPAT, ISO 14001, FAIM, and SAS 70 all of which greatly benefit our customers.  His untiring dedication has earned Bill the admiration and respect of our employees, customers, worldwide colleagues, and the industry as a whole.  With this sound foundation in place, it is appropriate for us to now focus on unleashing the growth potential of the Graebel Companies and Bill is the perfect catalyst to make this happen!”

Joining the organization in 1975, Mr. Graebel has held diverse field and corporate positions including Vice President of Sales and Marketing, General Manager, Operations Manager, President of Graebel Movers, Inc., and President of Graebel Van Lines, Inc.  In 2004, the Board of Directors appointed him Chief Operating Officer of Graebel Companies, Inc. while continuing his leadership role as President of Graebel Movers International, Inc. a division of the parent company.   

He is credited as the driving force behind the by-invitation-only international Graebel Relocation Alliance.  This month, the Alliance will hold its 7th annual conference in Denver. 106 countries are represented in this closed network membership.  Graebel is also recognized for the explosive client growth, service excellence and for forging major global expansion of the third party company, Graebel Relocation Services Worldwide, Inc.

Active in the industry, he is a Board Member of the international relocation organization, Overseas Moving Network International (OMNI), and committee member of FIDI (Fédération International des Déménageurs Internationaux).  In Colorado, his attention turns to volunteer activities focused on the family.   On the Board of Trustees for the Denver Area Council of the Boy Scouts, in 2007, the national organization bestowed its highest volunteer award, the Silver Beaver, to Graebel.  He is a Director on the Colorado Uplift board.  And, is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), Rocky Mountain Employee Relocation Council, and Denver West Ski Club.  A recognized industry expert, Mr. Graebel is frequently asked to speak around the world. 

He was conferred a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Political Science from Colorado College, Colorado Springs, CO.
