Graebel Companies, Inc. recognized five college-bound students with $7,500 in scholarships for the upcoming 2007/2008 academic year. Selected by a panel of three independent judges, Graebel employee and contractors’ children from across the country applied for the annual scholarship. Students were graded on five essay questions, a student’s work experience and school activities, high school or college transcript and class ranking, ACT/SAT test scores, and the overall completeness of paperwork. Each applicant’s submission was assigned an anonymous number for confidentiality to ensure complete objectivity. Scoring was based on a point system with a maximum 100 points. The five individuals with the highest scores became this year’s Graebel Scholarship winners. Students identify how to best use scholarships to help defray college expenses.
