January 21, 2010

(Aurora, CO)  - Vice President of Client Development, Rick Humphreys, announced that Mr. Pete Meiklejohn and Ms. Kim Laughlin joined his staff.  Previously, both held business development positions in Graebel Movers, Inc., a moving and storage division of the worldwide relocation organization, Graebel Companies, Inc.   This announcement brings Graebel’s client development staff to six people nationwide.  All report to Humphreys.

In his message Humphreys shared, “The client development mission is simple. To provide our clients thought leadership, outstanding consultative service and personal attention.  This means that each client development person must possess a thorough, up-to-the-minute understanding of his/her client’s relocation program.  And, each must regularly communicate industry trends and updates, and during business reviews routinely offer helpful program suggestions and recommend other Graebel services to his/her clients after uncovering additional needs.

To be effective, a client development person must have a strong relocation industry background and be well-versed in Graebel’s diverse worldwide service menu:  Full-service relocation such as international assignment management; home sale and purchase, temporary living to property management; move management and household goods moving and storage services, and commercial office relocation and workplace services.

I am very pleased to have Pete and Kim on my team.  Both are the epitome of a professional client development person and are multi-year Graebel colleagues responsible for major national accounts’ business.”

Based in Milwaukee Wisconsin, Meiklejohn’s client development territory is Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa and Wisconsin. Thirty year relocation veteran, Meiklejohn held management positions in operations, sales and was general manager at several different Midwestern Graebel centers and was a regional vice president.  Meiklejohn is past president of the Wisconsin Employee Relocation Council chapter.

With Graebel since 1994 and based in Charlotte, North Carolina Laughlin will be responsible for client development activities in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.  Laughlin holds the Worldwide Employee Relocation Council (CRP) designation.  Her relocation career began twenty five years ago in Michigan and there she was licensed in real estate.

Humphreys concluded, “Pete and Kim join Craig Chapman, Nancy Lempicki, Brad Igers and Susan Achilles.  This team embodies how Graebel encourages career-paths and is an employee-friendly company.  For example, Brad Igers and Susan Achilles were highly effective, proven leaders in their former roles in our international forwarding and move management division respectively before their November promotions to director on the client development team.”
