Graebel Companies’ foreign trading partner, Asya International Movers participated in the Graebel Movers International, Inc. supply chain security validation for Custom-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT). Although Asya is a foreign entity and therefore is not eligible to become a validated member of C-TPAT, Graebel recognized Asya, an Alliance partner, for meeting the security requirements equaling those of a validated C-TPAT member. Supply Chain Security Specialists representing the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Customs & Border Protection (CBP) conducted an on-site visit to Asya International Movers’ facilities in Istanbul Turkey to review their documented security procedures and practices. CBP’s evaluation of Asya International included the same security requirements and questions applicable to Graebel Movers International, a certified member of C-TPAT.
The objective of C-TPAT is to better protect and secure the global logistics supply chain through a variety of standardized processes, controls and best practices which include: Physical Security, Physical Access Controls, Personnel Security, Information Technology Security, Procedural Security, Business Partner Requirements, and Security Training and Threat Awareness.
According to Graebel Movers International President, Jim Petzel, “The strong service-based relationships we have fostered over the years with our 150 worldwide Alliance partners have been critical to our success in providing consistent quality services to our customers on a global basis. We enjoy recognizing these firms for their fine performance. As our company’s Chief Executive Officer, William Graebel, often says, we are sincerely grateful to have trusting relationships with organizations that share our standards and values.”
